Definition of CRD IV

CRD IV, or the EU Capital Requirements Directive, is the package that brings the Basel III regulatory standards for bank capital adequacy and liquidity into European law.

It includes public country by country tax transparency requirements for credit institutions and investment firms. From 1 January 2015 all institutions are required annually to disclose publically the name, nature and geographical location of activities, and number of employees, turnover, profit or loss before tax, tax on profit or loss and public subsidies received.
