Definition of ecofin

Ecofin stands for the Economic and Financial Affairs Council of the European Union. It brings together all the finance ministers of the EU's member-states.

The Ecofin council is chaired by the finance minister of the country that holds the EU's six-month rotating presidency. It convenes once a month, normally one day after the eurogroup's meeting. [1]
