Definition of relative strength index RSI

A technical analysis indicator that measures the momentum of a share price movement over a given period, basically by looking at the number of days in which the stock gained ground and the number of days in which it fell. The RSI value can range from 1 to 100, with some technical analysts considering a value of 30 or below as indicating an oversold condition and 70 or above an overbought condition.
