Definition of portfolio swap

A derivative instrument that references a portfolio of single name credit default swaps. The portfolio will be tailored to the desires of a particular investor, meaning they have bespoke exposure, rather than being linked to standard CDS indices, such as the European iTraxx indices or US CDX series.

As portfolio swaps are bespoke, they are sold on a one off basis.  [1]
